International Friendlies
In the Competition Module, you can also add international friendly matches. To do so:
Start by creating a new competition by clicking on the New Competition in the left navigation bar
Complete the New competition form with the necessary information. Ensure the organization is set to FIFA or another relevant international organization to categorize your competition as international. Click on the 💾 Save button to finalize the creation of a competition.
Once the competition is created, navigate to the National Teams tab to add the teams.
After adding the required number of national teams (specified during competition creation), new buttons for Scheduling rounds and Starting competition will appear above the list of selected teams.
Click on the Schedule rounds, fill in the necessary information, and click the 💾 Save button to apply your changes.
For this example, we’ll set the first match between the Republic of Ireland (current Association of the logged-in COMET system) and Zimbabwe.
Click on the match name to view and edit its details
To set a line-up for the Republic of Ireland’s national team, you can load all the available players and elect those to be included in the line-up. The system will automatically fill in details like player number, age, and name.
Since Zimbabwe’s national team is not available in FAI’s COMET system, loading available players and other team officials won’t load any of them. Their players and officials will need to be entered manually.
Type their names and required information (e.g., player number) in the white fields shown in the image below to add them to this match.
To include technical staff, click the Add button, select a team official, and type in their name. Press the 💾 Save button to save your changes.
The users responsible of entering international friendly matches are Superusers, Administrators of National Team, or Administrators of International Affairs.
