List of Serving Scopes
The Serving of suspension refers to the match(es) in which a player or an official serves their suspension. In some cases, the serving scope of a particular suspension might differ from the scope of matches in which a player or an official has been suspended.
The Suspension may be imposed on a player or an official.
Competition element - serves suspension only with the match of a single Competition Element without affecting other competitions within the same Parent Competition, as is the competition element of a sanction's disciplinary case.
Competition - serves suspension only with the match of the same competition or competition under the same parent as the competition of the sanction's disciplinary case
Competition type - serves suspension only with the match of the competition of the same type as the type of competition of the sanction disciplinary case
Age category - serves suspension only with the match of competition of the same age category as the age category of the competition of the sanction disciplinary case
Organization team type - serves suspension with national team match if the sanction's disciplinary case is connected to a national team competition, or serves suspension with the club's match if the sanction's disciplinary case is connected to a club competition
This scope is only applicable for usage in, e.g., CONMEBOL and CONCACAF, and it also differentiates between friendly and official competition types, as a suspension in an official match cannot be served with a friendly match and vice versa.
Organization age category - serves a suspension only in the matches of competitions of the same organization and the same age category.
Lastly, one should keep in mind that there is an option "Only players in catalogue serve suspension" under "Disciplinary" section on the competition's main screen, which, if set, will allow serving of suspension only if the player was registered for the competition (added to the list of players on "Clubs" tab of the competition).
