Person User Accounts - Managed by Administrators
Person User Accounts (e.g. Referees, Match officials, Competition Managers, etc.) are managed through the Person Tab in the Person section. From here, you can create or edit a user account that is directly linked to a specific person record. This view also provides a shortcut to the user account from within the person’s profile, making it especially useful for managing individual registrations or ensuring that user access is properly aligned with the person's data.
Accessing the Person profile
To view the list of persons registered in your Association:
Navigate to the Administration section in MyCOMET
Select Organization, then choose the relevant tab (e.g. Association)
Click on a tab such as Match Roles
You will see a list of registered persons across various roles, including:
Referees
Referee Observers
Delegates
Match Officials

Person User Account management can also be delegated to Administrators (e.g. Administrator of Referees), enabling them to create and manage user profiles directly from person records. This feature is controlled by a system setting and is not enabled by default—if you would like to have it activated, please contact our support team by submitting a ticket.
Below is a summary of which user roles are authorized to create other types of user accounts:
User Role | Can Create Users With Roles |
---|---|
Referee Administrator | Referee, Referee Observer, Match Official |
Competition Administrator | Delegate, Match Official, Competition Manager |
Disciplinary Administrator | Disciplinary Manager |
Event Administrator | Event Manager |
Add new user
Select the person profile and switch to the Person tab
If the person does not yet have a user account linked to their profile, you will see the option to click Add User

The New User screen will appear with key details automatically pre-filled from the person's profile, including first name, last name, email, and organization. Review the information to ensure it is accurate, assign the appropriate user role, and then click Save to create the user account.

Please note that only roles within your domain can be assigned—for example, an Administrator of Referees can assign referee-related roles such as Referee Observer, Referee, or other functional roles linked to their area of responsibility (e.g. Referee Manager).
Once you save the changes, you will be redirected to the User Profile tab of the newly created user account. Next to this tab, you’ll also see additional sections such as Person, Registrations, Licenses, and Events.

Edit existing user
If you switch to the Person tab, you’ll notice that the area where the Add User button previously appeared now indicates that the person has an active user account linked to their profile.

Clicking on the person's username will take you directly to their user account, where you can edit personal information such as first name, last name, phone number, or start the email update procedure.

First Name / Last Name
Username (not editable)
Email (cannot be changed directly; a system-generated update email must be sent)
Phone Number
User ID (not editable)

User Profiles
Shows:
Organization Name & Type
Profile Status: Active or Inactive
User Roles associated with the profile: Match Official, Referee, Referee Observer, etc.
To update an existing user profile, simply select it from the list, for example, to assign an additional user role. If you want to add a new profile for another Association below your Association in the hierarchy to the same user, click the Add button in the upper right corner.

Deactivate Profile
You can deactivate a user’s profile for your Association when they no longer require access or authorization under that role. To do this, click the Edit button, and toggle the Active switch to deactivate the profile. Then, click Save to confirm the change. Once deactivated, the user will no longer be able to log in using the Association-related profile. However, if the user has another active profile (for example, with a club or another association), they will still be able to log in but will not be authorized to act on behalf of your club.
You may also want to use the Notes section to add comments or context regarding the activation or deactivation of the profile for future reference.
