Competition Application Types

Competition Applications are used to cover all of the scenarios of competitions that imply the club application process, i.e. clubs can apply and undergo all steps of the application process from their COMET UI. A responsible person (Competition Manager/ Admin) is able to choose one of the predefined application types. Application types are designed to cover all scenarios of the application process.

Below are the explanations of five Application types:

Pay after approval

In this scenario, the club first needs to be approved by the administrator, if the application is approved, the club needs to make the payment to confirm participation. Workflow consists of the following steps:

  1. Cub submits the application/fills the Application form → Application status is set to SUBMITTED

  2. Competition Admin reviews the application, in case the application is:

    1. approved, the application status is set to APPROVED

    2. not approved = returned, the application status is set to RETURNED. The club can correct and resubmit the Application for review

    3. not approved = rejected, the application status is set to REJECTED. The club is not allowed to participate in the competition

    4. not approved = added to the waiting list, the application status is set to WAITING. The club is in the waiting status until the responsible person removes it from the waiting list to set it as approved or rejected.

  3. Once approved, the Competition Club pays for the application → the Application status is set to CONFIRMED

Just Apply (with Approval)

In this scenario, there is no payment required, the club just needs to be approved by the administrator. Workflow consists of the following steps:

  1. Competition club submits the application/fills the Application form → Application status is set to SUBMITTED

  2. Competition Admin reviews the application In case the application is:

    1. approved, the application status is immediately set to CONFIRMED

    2. not approved = returned, application status is set to RETURNED. The club can correct and resubmit the Application for review

    3. not approved = rejected, the application status is set to REJECTED. The club is not allowed to participate in the competition

    4. not approved = added to the waiting list, the application status is set to WAITING. The club is in the waiting status until the responsible person removes it from the waiting list to set it as approved or rejected.

Just Apply (without Approval)

In this scenario, there is no approval nor payment required. This Application Type has no workflow, i.e. once the club submits the application it is automatically set to CONFIRMED

Just Pay

In this scenario, there is no approval required, the club just needs to pay to confirm participation. This Application Type has no workflow, i.e. once the club pays the application from the Competition menu (as the initial step) it is automatically set to CONFIRMED

Pay Later

In this scenario, there is no approval required, but the application and payment steps can be divided. The club can apply/book its place early, and pay at a later point.

  1. The club submits the application/fills out the Application form → Application status is set to APPROVED

  2. The club can pay for the Competition participation later, once it is done → the application status is set to CONFIRMED
