Appointment Notifications

Match appointments are published and notified to aoonly when moved to “Submitted” (if a response is required) or “Confirmed” (if not). The term “Submitted” replaces the former “Pending,” with no change in meaning.

With this change, each match official can now be submitted and published individually, without depending on the others. At the same time, all appointments can still be updated together using the new batch update features, available both in the Match Officials tab and in the Search Matches console, which is explained in more detail in the next article.

Relevant Match Official Appointment Notifications are sent in 2 scenarios:

  1. Notifications are sent to all appointed match officials once the match status changes from ENTERED to SCHEDULED.

    1. All SUBMITTED match officials receive a notification with a request to respond

    2. All CONFIRMED match officials receive a notification that they have been appointed (no action required)

  2. Once the match is in status SCHEDULED, notifications are sent on every status change of any match official appointment, e.g., when a referee confirms or rejects an appointment, or when an admin cancels a match appointment.

Once the match is SCHEDULED, and match officials have been notified, it is no longer possible to delete an appointment. Instead, the appointment should be CANCELLED or REJECTED to allow a new official in the same role to be appointed.

* ADMIN refers to:

→ Competition Admins and/or Referee Admins of the Organization

→ Competition Managers and/or Referee Managers of Competition

The notifications are also influenced by the Match Role configuration in the Admin application. The authorized group selected for a specific Match Role, which is granted permission to make appointments and change status, receives notifications upon confirmation/rejection of the appointment by the official.

The system can be configured to send notifications to Admins/Managers:

  • either on all appointment responses

  • or only on rejections

If you wish to change this behaviour, please submit a Support Ticket

If an Administrator changes the status of an appointment on behalf of a Match Official, the same notifications will be sent as if the Match Official had changed the status themselves.
