Visibility of Match Officials

The visibility of the Match Officials tab depends on:

Match status and Match role status
Competition parameter Minutes before Officials are Public
Match Role Private switch
User roles

Minutes before Officials are Public

The competition type parameter, Minutes before Officials are Public (MBOP), allows you to control when appointments become visible, by defining how long before kick-off they are published for scheduled matches.

E.g. if this parameter is set to 2800 minutes (48 hours), confirmed match officials will become visible to all transactional COMET users and the wider public via COMET LIVE API and COMET LIVE Apps 48 hours before the planned kick-off.

Private Match Roles

Some Match Official Roles can be defined as Private in the Match Roles configuration in the Admin App. Officials assigned to these roles will remain hidden from public displays, including the COMET LIVE mobile apps and COMET LIVE API.

Furthermore, appointed Private Match Roles in COMET will only be visible to match stakeholders, including admins, other appointed officials, and clubs participating in the match. They are not shown to other COMET users who are not involved in the match.

This feature is particularly useful for roles that are sensitive and should remain confidential, such as security or doping officers, as well as for roles that are not of broader public interest, such as VDC and similar operational positions.

View Authorizations

The Match Officials are always visible to Restricted Match Stakeholders. For other users, visibility depends on timing and configuration.

Competition/Referee Administrators (within tenant scope)
Competition/Referee Managers appointed to that competition

Data Superusers and Disciplinary Admins of the Competition organization and above
Disciplinary Managers appointed to the competition
Confirmed Match Officials
Club Managers/Referents and Lineup Managers of participating clubs or teams

Non-member roles are all COMET users except having at least one appointed COMET role (excluding Member role)
